As with many other DC titles, if you press X+Y at the pause screen, the pause message will go away.

Nightmare Creatures II Restore Health
If your getting clobbered and you just cant seem to survive long enough. Then try this, during gameplay

press and hold X, Y, B.

Watch as your health bar recharges itself.
